Crosman "Hidden Screw" Steel Breech Kit
In .177 or .22 caliber.

  • This is a special "hidden rear screw" breech with the front breech screw hidden underneath the bolt. It is a genuine Crosman product.

  • A Shorty version of this breech is also available.

  • For this breech to work with your gun, your main tube must have the rearward screw hole. Most tubes have BOTH screw locations, with one obviously going unused.

  • An OEM notched hammer is required for this breech and it's included in the kit.

  • Notched hammers do not exist for the 1377 1322 2289. You would have to notch your current hammer yourself (or have me do one for you) AND you would have to drill and tap the rearward hole in the tube, too.

  • These breeches are made of solid steel and provide strength, durability and accuracy over their plastic counterparts.

  • Best of all, however, is the addition of factory-milled 3/8" dovetails, which allow the installation of any scope with 3/8" dovetail rings.

  • If you feel uncomfortable performing the upgrade, I will perform the upgrade for free, providing you pay for shipping both ways.

Q: Why is Crosman making two different hole locations?
A: The new location hides the screw, hole and divot underneath the bolt at all times.
This keeps the pellet from getting jammed in the depression during loading.

Q: Will this breech fit my gas tube?
A: Remove your current breech. If there are two breech holes close together
(one of which your breech screw just came out of and the other of which is not used), then it will work. Or, if you're handy and don't have a second hole, drill and tap one out (see photos). Normally, 2240, 2250, 2260, 2300 and 2400 tubes have both holes. 1377, 1322 and 2289 do not.

Q: What's included in the kit?
A: The breech itself, the back bolt cover, the front screw, the rear screw, the bolt,
the barrel set screw, the bolt handle and the bolt o-ring. Also included is a 22xx notched hammer.
